Ireland's weather is about to take a turn as mild temperatures give way to a cooler phase. Met Eireann has also forecast showers of rain for the days ahead.
Ireland can expect a dose of weather whiplash this week as the mild temperatures the country has been enjoying give way to a brief cooler blast.
Today, drizzle will dominate the south and east, while scattered showers and sunny spells prevail elsewhere. The national forecaster said: “Rain and drizzle in the south and east today, scattered showers and sunny spells elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 16C to 20C in a light to moderate south to southwest wind.
“Scattered showers will mainly affect the north and west on Thursday night, with dry weather and clear spells across the rest of the country. Lowest temperatures of 8C to 12C with a light west to southwest wind.” “Saturday morning will be generally dry with sunny spells although there will be some showers in the north and west. The showers will move southeastwards across the country during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 15C to 19C in a light to moderate northwesterly wind generally, fresh at times near coasts.
