Ireland has endured almost autumnal-like conditions at times this summer. But that could all be about to change with hopes growing for an upcoming period of settled and warm weather.
Ireland’s summer has been full of extreme weather conditions - from record breaking heat in June to double storms in August.
While Met Eireann has ruled out any sign of an ‘Indian summer’, it said September could see a “warmer than average” and “drier than average” period. The national forecaster has issued a detailed forecast, spanning the next four weeks, which gives us a glimpse into what the weather might have in store for us.
Looking ahead to August 28 to September 3, it expects dry conditions to continue with temperatures around the norm. The forecast reads: “During the last week of August and first week of September the anticipated anticyclonic conditions will weaken although there is still expected to be mainly dry conditions with light winds and temperatures around normal or slightly above.”
