While we're all enjoying the late post-summer heat this weekend, it looks like it's not going to last much longer, asWhile today, Sunday, October 8, will remain pretty dry across the country - bar some light rain in parts of Ulster and Connaught - the national forecaster says that highest temperatures will hit around 18 to 23 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly or variable breezes. The predominant condition today looks to be mist and fog around the coast.
Tuesday night: A wet night for many with heavy rain arriving from the southwest and extending eastwards through the night. Mist and fog patches. Mostly dry in the northwest with some clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 15 degrees, coolest in the north. Light to moderate west to southwest breezes veering west to northwest.A wet start to Wednesday as rain continues heavy in places. That rain will gradually clear eastwards through the afternoon with sunny spells developing.
Wednesday night: Mostly dry with some rain developing along southern coasts. Clear spells away from northern and southern coasts. Cooler on Wednesday night with lowest temperatures of 4 to 10 degrees in a variable light breeze.Rain will linger on southern coasts with cloud building over the southern half of the country. Mainly dry elsewhere with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in light east or variable breezes.
