Storm Antoni to batter Ireland as 110km/h winds and torrential rain spark urgent Met Eireann warning
The storm was officially named by the UK’s Met Office this morning and will bring unseasonably strong gales and torrential rain to Ireland.
A Status Yellow Rain warning for Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo and Cavan begins at 2pm Friday and lasts until 9am Saturday. It reads: “Spells of heavy rain from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning.” The national forecaster says the weather poses several potential impacts, including spot flooding, reduced visibility and challenging travel conditions.
