British company EP Energy says building of gas-fired facility is no longer economically viable due to decisions made by Irish regulators

The state’s plans to solve the growing mismatch between power supply and demand were dealt a major blow last week after a British energy company terminated work on a large-scale power plant it was due to build by 2025.

EP Energy, a London-based energy company, confirmed to the Business Post it had scrapped plans to build a 260 megawatt gas-fired power plant in Co Galway.
