A stormy August brought heavy rain, strong winds and floods

Air temperature deviations for the season ranged from 0.5C at Sherkin Island, Co Cork to 1.5C at Belmullet, Co Mayo.
Athenry, Co Galway had its warmest summer since 1983 with a mean temperature of 15.7C and both Valentia Observatory, Co Kerry 15.9C and Claremorris, Co Mayo 15.4C had their warmest summer since 1995.
