The man will appear before court this morning in connection to the death a woman in Cork on Friday.
A postmortem of the body was completed yesterday evening, but results aren't being released for operational reasons.
Former Lord Mayor of Cork Councillor Deirdre Forde said the death is “a tragedy for everybody concerned”. “If anybody has any information, they should certainly no matter how small it is, or whatever they think might be useful, do talk to Gardaí,” she said.“The reaction locally is one of absolute shock and disbelief,” he said. “Cardinal Court Wilton where the incident took place is a quiet residential community.
