Ciara Mageean and Sarah Healy both advanced to the semi-finals of the 1500m at the World Athletics Championships on Saturday.
But 21-year-old O'Sullivan smashed her personal best with a time of 4:02:15, which was some five seconds faster than her previous PB, in what was the fastest run heat of the day.In fact, O'Sullivan's time was faster than both Healy and Mageean, but ultimately wasn't enough to advance as she finished in eighth place, with only the first six home in each of the four heats qualifying for the semis.
