Limerick Sinn Féin TD, Maurice Quinlivan told the Irish Mirror he fears it is only a matter of time before there are “more serious injuries or the death of an innocent person”
Limerick Sinn Féin TD, Maurice Quinlivan, has called for a step-change in the approach to the issue of the misuse of scramblers in urban areas.
“I have seen and received reports of these vehicles being driven aggressively on scenic walkways and also on the public roads of the city, often on the main street in the core of the city. “I have been contacted by hard-working people who are finding it very difficult to work from home because of the noise pollution of these devices.
The Sinn Féin Deputy said that more needs to be done to ensure that these vehicles do not pose an increased danger to the public. “Subsequently, the government brought forward their own legislation that adopted many of the proposals contained in the Sinn Féin bill. The TD continued, explaining that he fears it is only a matter of time before there is “more serious injuries or the death of an innocent person.”
