Speaking to the Construction Industry Federation annual conference on Thursday, Mr Varadkar pointed out that increased home working was cutting the need for offices. “We have to look at changing their use, possibly for housing,” he said, adding that this could also be the case with “retail properties”.
The Taoiseach told the conference in Croke Park that more than 14,000 homes were built in the Republic in the first half of this year.
