RTE Director General Kevin Bakhurst announced negotiations between Ryan and RTE broke down
TV host Brendan Courtney has said he feels “strange” sitting in on hosting duty on Ryan Tubridy’s Radio 1 show.
According to bookies Paddy Power, Courtney is 9/1 to replace Tubridy, while Oliver Callan is 5/2 favourite alongside Cat Deely, whose husband Patrick Kielty is getting ready to host the new season of the Late Late Show. Another tweeted: “Appropriate tone from @BrendanCourtney this morning. It must be a difficult day to sit in that chair. Brendan has always read the room well.”
Other famous faces have also made the list, with Newstalk presenter Anton Savage at 3/1, while Miriam O’Callaghan and Sarah McInerney are sitting at 4/1 and 5/1 respectively.
