Thankfully the stolen property was returned to its owner
Who is the worst person a criminal could attempt to fence stolen goods to? Either the person the stolen goods belong to or a member of law enforcement, which is just what one Dublin thief happened to do this week.
Unfortunately for the criminal, but luckily for the owner of the property, the off-duty Garda sprang into action and arrested the thief who tried to sling the stolen goods. They wrote: "Little did this person know he was speaking to an off-duty Garda tonight when trying to sell them this stolen iPad. He’s been arrested and we’d like to get the device back to its owner.”
As it turns out, the iPad belonged to a much-loved Dublin restaurant and bar, Peruke & Periwig, located on Dawson Street.
