Coscoran clocked a time of 3.34.75 to squeak into the semi-final in the sixth qualifying place.

Andrew Coscoran has qualified for the 1500m semi-final at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest courtesy of a sixth placed finish in Saturday's heats.Abel Kipsang of Kenya ran a time of 3.34.08 to take home victory in the highly competitive heat that saw just 0.67 seconds separating 1st from 6th.

"Obviously getting through the heats is difficult," Coscoran said after the race, "I managed to progress into the semi-final so I'm happy. The Balbriggan native has been in sensational form this year and having set a new National Record of 3.30.42 earlier this year, the 27-year-old has plenty in reserve heading into Sunday's semi-final.
