Giving the Labour Court’s decision, Louise O’Donnell said Aer Lingus “could offer no basis for requiring female members of staff to wear high/medium heels prior to boarding and when departing the aircraft”. These include the design of the women’s blouse and jacket, the requirement to wear pop socks, and the provision of handbags for women instead of “more practical” satchels, which the male staff receive.
