History will be made on Saturday when Ireland's women play their first ever match at the Aviva Stadium - and already 38,000 tickets have been snapped up for the visit of Northern Ireland.
Katie McCabe is ready to put in a performance on Saturday that ensures Ireland’s first ever women’s international at the Aviva Stadium is not a one-off.
“We've had great engagement with the fans in Tallaght, but this is the pinnacle, you know, playing in your national stadium. Some of the fans who will make their way to Ballsbridge on Saturday are recent converts to the women’s game, having been drawn into it by Ireland’s historic World Cup qualification.
McCabe added: “You know what? It is just so exciting. I hope to see thousands of boys and girls coming out to cheer us on. Gleeson responded: “She has lived off that ever since, a flukey goal. It’s not our first rodeo here.”
