If you missed the stunning display tonight, you can still catch a glimpse tomorrow 🌕
Stargazers and skywatchers are in for a delight this week as the second supermoon of 2023 will be visible, illuminating the night sky on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Astronomy experts have said that the best time to catch a glimpse of the Lunar display will be at moonrise tonight, with no special equipment needed to check it out. Here is everything you need to know about the supermoon: What is a supermoon? The term supermoon was coined by astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979 as either a new or full Moon that occurs when the Moon is within 90 per cent of perigee, its closest approach to Earth.
When will this supermoon be visible? Astronomy Ireland's David Moore said: "The best time to watch is at moonrise, which is the same time the Sun sets, when a further effect, called The Moon Illusion kicks in which can make the moon look even bigger to the human eye/brain combination."
