Aviva Stadium will host six games at the 2028 finals, including four group games, a Last 16 tie and one quarter-final
Euro 2028 host nations have been left in the dark over UEFA’s plans for automatic qualification spots.
But Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales are still no closer to knowing how UEFA will award qualification spots for host nations. But European football’s governing body will assess the matter before confirming how they will rank teams in the event that three or more of the hosts don’t qualify.
“That will now sit with UEFA and UEFA will think through all of the issues and apply them accordingly. We don't know what the timetable for that will be.”Mooney said: “2026 is when everything really has to be resolved, in terms of where the matches are going to be played, and the schedule.“I don’t have an exact date on it, I’m sure we have timelines in the proposal, but I don’t know the exact date.
