Stephen Mulhern is no stranger to Dancing on Ice having previously worked on the show - Phillip Schofield will not be returning but Holly Willoughby's future remains unknown
Rumours swirled that the TV favourite, who also works on shows such as Catchphrase and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, would step in to co-host the reality figure skating show when Phillip Schofield left ITV back in summer.
"I used to do the spinoff show Defrosted and when I stood in for Phil when he wasn’t too well, he had Covid, I really enjoyed it and it was so lovely being back with Holly," he said.Stephen added to MailOnline: "We are talking about it, but I promise you now that nothing is confirmed but if it happens, it will be absolutely amazing… if it doesn't, look, it doesn't.
"After all, work begins on the skate show in December with shoots and promo, and nobody wants to place unrealistic expectations on Holly’s shoulders and have her feel she needs to rush back, especially because nobody knows how and when the court case will proceed."Boxer Ricky Hatton, actress Claire Sweeney, popstar Hannah Spearritt and West End performer Amber Davies were the first celebrities revealed to be joining the show.
