Mr English passed away on Monday and acted as the Limerick Hurling masseur.

Tributes have poured in for Limerick Hurling's masseur Shane English following his passing on Monday.

Mr English passed away in Milford Care Centre surrounded by family. Living in Adare, he acted as the hurler's masseur for the 2022 season. And Mr English could be seen lifting the Liam McCarthy trophy in the Hogan Stand following their win over Kilkenny in last year's final.In a statement released by Limerick GAA, they said: "All involved with Limerick GAA would like to express our sincere sympathies to Breda and Jack and all the English family on the untimely passing of Shane.And in a statement released by the Limerick Leader, John Kiely paid tribute to Mr English.

He said: "He fit in very well and was very popular within the group. He was a great character to have around and we are all very saddened by his passing. "We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Breda, his son Jack and his extended family and friends at this particularly sad time."We were fortunate to have benefited from his talent and enjoyed his company and character while he was with us. He was a true gentleman. May He Rest in Peace."
