Ireland face a crucial tie on Sunday and two more strikers have been called up to the side.

Stephen Kenny has called up two more strikers to his Republic of Ireland side ahead of the crunch tie with The Netherlands on Sunday.

Ireland lost to France last night leaving their Euro 2024 qualification hopes hanging by the thinnest of threads. The boys in green were thoroughly outclassed with goals from Aurélien Tchouaméni and Marcus Thuram separating the sides. Ireland striker Will Keane came on as a substitute at half-time only to be substituted mid-way through the second period following an injury. He has since returned to his club side, Preston North End, for treatment. In to replace him are duo Sinclair Armstrong and Jonathan Afolabi. Armstrong plays his club football in London for Queens Park Rangers, he scored and assisted during their win over Cardiff last month.

Jonathan Afolabi has been on fire for Bohemians this season with 11 goals in the Premier Division. Although the vast majority of those came earlier in the season with the 23-year old scoring just twice in his last fifteen league games. A win for Stephen Kenny's men would see them draw level with Greece on six points with a home-tie against them still to come. The Dutch will however have a game in hand. The French have all but qualified.
