Smyths and Lidl urgently recall popular item over fears it could cause painful injuries
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission issued the warning over the ZURU Full-Size Baby Shark Hard Plastic Top Fin Toys on Friday.
The safety chiefs say that the danger lies in the hard plastic fin of the bath toy, which poses a risk of scratches, lacerations and puncture wounds if children slip, fall or sit on it.They were sold in Smyths and Lidl stores throughout Ireland and have the model number 25282. “The risk associated with the product is that of injuries. If a child slips, falls or sits on to the hard plastic fin of the bath toy it could result in scratches, lacerations and puncture wounds.
“Please note that since March 2023 Zuru has sold a version of the Full-Size Baby Shark with a silicone top fin. This product is not affected, only the products with a hard plastic top fin are being recalled.”
