Tubridy was renegotiating a new contract with the broadcaster before the payments scandal emerged
It is unclear if the RTE star will return to the airwaves, despite a review by Grant Thornton found he "no wrong doing" by him after it was revealed he was given €345,000 more than publicly declared over a five year period.
In a statement, a spokesman for RTE confirmed that the star is now "out of his contract" with the broadcaster after stepping down from the Late Late Show last month. Later today, Siún Ní Raghallaigh, Chair of RTÉ, Anne O'Leary, Chair of Audit & Risk Committee RTÉ, Robert Shortt, Member of Audit & Risk Committee and Board staff representative, Adrian Lynch, Interim Deputy Director General Richard Collins, Chief Financial Officer, Geraldine O'Leary, Director of Commercial, Rory Coveney, Director of Strategy will all attend today's media committee.
