He also shared a picture of himself, Sinead and his mother from when they attended the Nothing Compares 2 U singer's performance at Vicar Street in 2019.
Ryan Tubridy has broken his social media silence to pay a heartfelt tribute to Sinead O'Connor after her death.
He said: "Like everyone, I'm devastated by the awful news about Sinead. We spoke days ago and she was as kind, powerful, passionate, determined and decent as ever. Sinead's heartbreaking final message on social media was discussing the toll her teenage son's suicide took on her. Her son Shane O'Connor passed away last year at the age of 17.
