RTÉ Director General Kevin Bakhurst is to meet staff today to update them on developments at the organisation.
RTÉ has been hit with a sharp fall in TV licence fee revenue following revelations in June over the under-declaration of Ryan Tubridy's salary.He and his management team are currently developing a strategic framework for the future of RTÉ which is due to be completed in the coming weeks.
Yesterday, Minister for Media Catherine Martin said that RTÉ is to receive €16 million in additional funding for next year."As recommended by the Future of Media Commission, and underpinned by the more recent New Era analysis, Minister Donohoe and I acknowledge the need to provide interim additional funding of €16m to RTÉ, as required, and this will be dealt with post-budget," Ms Martin said.
