The €60,000-per-annum contract has been confirmed despite a hiring freeze announced on Wednesday
RTÉ have released a statement confirming they are hiring a Fair City photographer for €60,000 per year in a statement, following backlash over the role.
In a statement on Thursday morning, RTE confirmed the position and clarified details of the contract in question. The statement said the contract is a "guide price" and is for a maximum of €60,000 per annum, or €240,000 over four years. "This imagery is then used across a variety of media outlets to help drive audiences to the show as viewers can now decide 'what to watch' based on the promotional image that appears on their platform."
