The director general was before the PAC today
The new Director General of RTE Kevin Bakhurst went before the Oireactas Public Accounts Committee today and gave an update on Ryan Tubridy and his contract.Read more:Ryan Tubridy's RTÉ pay was the only one wrongly stated, audit findsToday, Mr Bakhurst said that as of this week this is no longer the case.
“As I understand it, the latest invoice came in this week and my advice is we need to decide exactly what we’re paying him because he’s not doing his past duties any more, so that’s currently a process going on.”“We’ll have to continue discussions with Mr Tubridy’s agent about that because clearly he’s not doing his TV programme any more," he said.
Ryan and his agent Noel Kelly appeared before the Oireachtas on Tuesday, where the broadcaster says he hopes to return to the radio.
