McIlroy missed out on the chance to regain the World Number One spot with a third placed finish at TPC Southwind on Sunday
Rory McIlroy took home a cheque of over $1 million after finishing third at the FedEx St Jude Invitational on Sunday.
That victory earned the American a whopping $3.6 million to go with the $1.3 million he received for winning the Wyndham Championship last week in what has been a very lucrative few days for the 2009 US Open Champion. Again, it was the putter that let McIlroy down although in fairness to the Holywood star his statistics with the flatstick improved as the week went on.
Tee to green, I felt really good. As I said back at The Open, I found something at the Travelers and it's just been a continuation of that."I guess it feels like a week of what could have been. Yeah, look, again, everyone in this field could think about the shots that they could have saved over the course of the four days, but I just think with how good my game has felt from tee to green, I could have maybe taken more advantage of that over the last few days.
