“The GAA permeates every level of Irish society no matter of class, social standing, sexuality, religion, race.' davidgough
Referee David Gough has said that he is pleased with the massive strides the GAA has made when it comes to diversity and inclusion.Speaking today to mark the launch of the SuperValu’s Wear with Pride Laces campaign for Pride month 2023, of which he is an ambassador, David highlighted the importance of each local GAA club being a place where everyone feels welcome.“The GAA permeates every level of Irish society no matter of class, social standing, sexuality, religion, race," he said.
“I think from 2019 to where we are now that has been the greatest transformation of an Association to do with LGBTQ+ rights," he said. “The GAA, like the LGBTQ+ community, it's a community based organization and they should be doing their best to promote community matters. That's why they have their slogan 'Where we all Belong'. SuperValu have their 'Community includes Everyone'.
