Ireland had above average temperatures and sunshine this September with records broken in some areas according to the latest Met Eireann climate statement.
A Met Eireann spokesperson said: “The majority of monthly rainfall totals were above their 1981-2010 Long-Term Average. The number of wet days across the country ranged from 12 at Roche’s Point, Co Cork to 18 days at both Malin Head, Co Donegal and Johnstown Castle, Co Wexford.
