Robbie Power previews the action on day 4 of the 2024 Punchestown Festival
It will be very difficult for Irish Point to reverse the Champion Hurdle form with State Man in today's Boodles Champion Hurdle at Punchestown .
I don't have much of a view on today's opener, but Gino Drummer Boy would be my selection for Gordon Elliott and Harry Swan, who recorded his first win at this meeting on Tuesday. Allegorie De Vassy looks the one to beat in the Mares Chase at 4.50. Brides Hill is a good mare as well, she's had a fantastic season for Gavin Cromwell and looks a big danger, but Allegorie De Vassy has the trip to suit here and should land a nice pot for Paul and Willie.
Lifetime Ambition was also second in a Grade 1 Novice Chase behind Capodanno at this meeting two years ago and I think he can run a big race for Pat Doyle, who now trains the nine-year-old.
