Luis Diaz thought he had put Liverpool in front against Tottenham, but the goal was ruled out by the VAR for offside, with the Reds going on to lose in the last-minute

PGMOL, the body responsible for referees in the Premier League, have admitted that Luis Diaz's disallowed goal against Tottenham should have stood.

But PGMOL has now admitted that the goal was not in fact checked, due to "significant human error". The body stated it would be apologising immediately to Liverpool for the mistake, which led to the Reds losing 2-1. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was left fuming despite that apology though. And the German was clearly unhappy as he was told of the PGMOL statement in his post-match press conference.“Who does that help? We had that situation in the Man Utd game. Did Wolves get points for it? We won’t get points for it. We all thought that when VAR came in it would make things easier," Klopp said.

"At the time, I thought that’s onside but then I hear in my ear, ‘check complete’. No lines, it was so quick. Something was obviously wrong. That is unbelievable. That is a really, really bad one," he told Sky Sports.
