“I’d need a few more beers '
New Late Late show presenter Patrick Kielty is remaining tight lipped about the payment scandal engulfing his new employers joking he would need ‘a couple more beers’ before discussing it.
When briefly quizzed about the scandal he said “I’d need a few more beers before I could talk about that.”RTE released a statement on Thursday revealing Ryan Tubridy was paid €345,000 more than had been publicly shared between 2017 and 2022. On Friday, it was announced that RTÉ Director General Dee Forbes had been suspended and today she resigned from the broadcaster with immediate effect. Tubridy remains off the air as Oliver Callan fills in.
Kielty is due to take over the position as host of the Late Late show in September but according to the Belfast Telegraph, journalists at last night’s event were warned that Mr Kiely would not be taking questions on the much talked about controversy.
