The 67-year-old sat down with host Patrick Kielty and took aim at modern day Gaelic football
But before the interview started, Spillane jokingly demanded three things from Kielty.
He said: "I left RTE 15 months ago and this is the first representative from RTE that I've met so I need three things. "Secondly, I'm still getting a lot of letters from the finance department about my tax affairs. Please tell them I left the gig 16 months ago and thirdly, the day I retired from The Sunday Game, which was a beautiful occasion, RTE Sport/ The Sunday Game gave me a beautiful presentation of a signed autographed jersey of the Dublin team.
