Archived footage of Patrick Kielty pretending to host The Late Late Show with Gay Byrne has been circulating, ahead of his first time hosting the show tonight.
In a comedy bit, a fresh faced Kielty impersonates Gay Byrne, while being interviewed by him.The video dates back to 1996, three years before Gay Byrne, retired from hosting the programme. Patrick had appeared on the show to promote his stand-up comedy video ‘Stir It Up’.
He glances back at Gay, who is going along with the bit in true ‘Gaybo’ fashion, hands on his hips and shaking his head at the crowd, who are erupting with laughter. He'll be brilliant.”
