A Co Kildare-based cooked meats company, which has been supplying Lidl in Ireland for a number of years, will soon see its products on the supermarket shelves in the UK, Denmark, Finland, Greece and across Eastern Europe.
O'Brien Fine Foods, located in Timahoe, has entered a €60m supply deal with the German retailer to supply Lidl's own brand sliced ham and beef lines and poultry products to outlets internationally.
The company has been supplying Lidl's own brand meat products in Ireland since 2011 and has increased its workforce from 250 to 600 employees in recent years."Our partnership with Lidl, which started in 2011, has helped our family-run business in Co Kildare thrive immensely. It has enabled us to invest in our business and grow our team substantially.

"O'Brien Fine Foods are a valued and trusted supplier of Lidl for many years, and we are proud to continue to build on our longstanding partnership," he added.
