Detectives investigating the disappearance of Co Antrim woman Chloe Mitchell (21) have begun a murder inquiry after suspected human remains were found in Ballymena, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.

Searches along the Braid river in the Co Antrim town were ongoing over the weekend. Up to 80 volunteers were involved in Saturday’s searches where teams concentrated on thick undergrowth on the banks of the river Braid in Ballymena.
