Prior to the All-Ireland final, Bohan said his intention was to “steady the ship” this year before handing over the reins for 2024.

Dublin star Lauren Magee says she’s very much in the dark as to whether manager Mick Bohan will continue in the job.

"I actually have no clue,” said Magee. “It's been seven years and I've been on the panel eight years, which just doesn't feel like that. I actually don't know. “But then he's the type of man who I feel would still be involved in some team if he wasn't involved with us. It will be interesting to see." “I suppose if you have that, there will be panic in the group because obviously they're such amazing coaches. I work with Derek Murray and Paul Casey in the back line and they bring so much to the group. And then you also have the forward coaches as well.

Dublin weren’t fancied from the outset to regain the Brendan Martin Cup this year and, oddly enough, it was in defeat to Kerry in the group stage that Magee’s belief that they could return to the summit was fuelled. “But, again, it was more like, yes, we want to get to the All-Ireland final but it was more to focus on each game as it came. I think that’s where a lot of teams fall short, you’re looking too far in advance.
