Gerardo Martino has managed Lionel Messi at Barcelona, Argentina and now Inter Miami, and he's confident he knows exactly how the player is feeling after feeling lost at PSG
Lionel Messi has settled in perfectly at Inter Miami after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in June, and manager Gerardo Martino says the World Cup winner couldn't be happier.
The Argentine revealed that he was unhappy in France after leaving PSG, and continued to speak out against the Ligue 1 side in his latest press conference for Miami. But Messi is finally happy again now that he's at a club where he feels loved, stating it's the "opposite" of how he felt when joining PSG.
"My departure from Barcelona to Paris was not something I wanted, I did not want to leave and it happened from one day to the next, it also took a while for me to quickly get used to a totally different place both in the city and in sports and made difficult," Messi said in a press conference on Thursday. "But that is the complete opposite of what is happening to me here, thank God.
"And well, it happened just as it happened before with [Kylian] Mbappe, with Neymar. I know that's the way they behave. But, well, I'll take away with me the people who respected me, as I always respected everyone since I arrived and that's all. It's an anecdote."
