Met Eireann have predicted that temperatures will drop as the week goes on while rain will be widespread across the country, turning heavy and prolonged at times

The weather warning comes after a number of counties were under Status Yellow and Orange weather warnings on Thursday and Friday for rain. Rain continuing for a time tonight, mainly in the north and east with further heavy falls. Rain will clear eastwards overnight becoming drier in most places with clear spells developing, although showers will later follow from the Atlantic.
Tuesday September 19 A windy and mostly wet day with outbreaks of rain. Mostly cloudy or overcast conditions, with fresh to strong southwest winds. Mild and humid with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees. Rain will slowly clear overnight as winds ease.
