'The country is currently basking in glorious sunshine and the national forecaster predicts the warm spell will stick around for at least another week.'

Met Éireann has indicated when the current warm spell of weather will end with a return of cooler temperatures and rain and showers.

"Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry and largely sunny days. Warm with highest temperatures of 17 to 21 or 22 degrees generally," a Met Éireann forecaster said. "It will stay dry with spells of sunshine and temperatures reaching the high teens or low twenties," Met Eireann said. For the week from June 5 to June 11, they say: "Early indications suggest high pressure will begin to decline as a more changeable weather pattern takes hold. Mean air temperatures are forecast to return to near-average values, coolest across the north of Ireland. There is likely to be some rain or showers at times, but overall the trend remains for somewhat drier than average conditions during the week.
