Ireland weather: Met Eireann issues warning for 19-hour onslaught of pouring rain amid dire forecast
Heavy and persistent rain is forecast to push in from the southwest this evening and continue into tomorrow.It begins at 8pm and lasts through to 3pm Tuesday, affecting Cork, Kerry and Waterford.The Status Yellow alert reads: “A spell of heavy rain, followed by showers may lead to localised flooding.”
The wet weather will continue into tomorrow morning before gradually clearing into the Irish sea. However more showers will develop in the afternoon, turning heavy and thundery at times. “Many areas dry with clear spells Tuesday night and just well scattered showers. Lows of 9C to 11C with light to moderate northwest breezes.”
The national forecaster continued: “A mix of sunny spells and scattered showers Wednesday in light to moderate northwest breezes. Highest temperatures of 16C to 19C, coolest in the coastal fringes of the west and north. Long clear spells and just isolated showers on Wednesday night. Lows of 8C to 11C in mainly light northwest or variable breezes.
