One of Lionel Messi's bodyguards intervened when a pitch invader attempted to approach the Argentina and Inter Miami superstar during a Major League Soccer match
When a fan made it onto the pitch and tried to have a moment with Lionel Messi, the forward's bodyguard was having none of it.
The fan, who appears to be wearing the colours of Messi's former club Barcelona, makes it all the way onto the pitch before getting up close to the forward and attempting to give him a hug. At this point, though, the bodyguard grabs the individual around the neck before an individual in a hi-vis vest also approaches.
The victory at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles extended Inter Miami's unbeaten run to 11 games in all competitions - a club record. Facundo Farias opened the scoring, with Messi laying on further goals for Jordi Alba and Leonardo Campana before Ryan Hollingshead found a late LAFC consolation. "We're happy for the three points, and also for beating this level of opponent on the road, with really good collective and individual play," manager Tata Martino said after the win. "The truth is it was a really good test for us."
