Substantial reform is required to restore trust in the national broadcaster, Catherine Martin has said
Media Minister Catherine Martin has said she expects to see “significant changes” in the governance and management of RTÉ following the conclusion of a number of reviews that are currently investigating the national broadcaster.
One is focusing on governance and culture at RTÉ, while the other is investigating contractor fees, human resources and a number of other matters. These are expected to conclude and report to the minister early next year.Forensic accountants Mazars have also been appointed to examine the use of a barter account by the broadcaster, as well as any other off-balance sheet accounts that may be identified.
The minister also said she expected the broadcaster to “fully take account” of the conclusions reached by the two ongoing reviews, which she anticipates will report to her in the new year.
