'Wendy has touched my heart, my soul and every fibre of my being with this gesture'
A terminally ill Coldplay fan who appealed for help to see the band for possibly her final time has been gifted two tickets in the memory of a young New York man who died of cancer last month.
She spent five hours last week trying to get a ticket for Coldplay and made the appeal to buy two off anyone who was selling tickets so she could go with her best friend Catherine Tobin. "I became a Coldplay fan around 2012, after seeing Chris Martin play an acoustic set on TV for a fundraiser. I've never been to their concert but have been waiting patiently for the band to play Ireland again. I thought it would be a great family concert to bring our kids to."The next evening, several of my closest friends arrived at my house and gifted me a beautiful Cherry Blossom tree in memory of my brother.
"You never know how to repay the kindness people show you, and when I think of all the friends, family and even strangers who reached out a hand to help my family during what has been the worst year of our lives, the only way I know how is to pay it forward. I hope this story inspires other people to pay kindness forward, it's good for your heart."
