Founded by Dr Elizabeth Gilligan and Sam Clark, Material Evolution’s cement has an 85% lower carbon footprint than ordinary Portland cement
Material Evolution, an Irish-founded company that has developed a manufacturing process to produce low carbon cement from industrial waste, has raised £15 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round.
The investment is to be used to scale production of its groundbreaking product to serve as a replacement for ready-mix and precast concrete. Material Evolution’s cement has an 85 per cent lower carbon footprint than ordinary Portland cement.
