The former Manchester United goalkeeper was brutally honest as he reviewed the Red Devils' 3-1 defeat away at Arsenal on Sunday afternoon and reserved some criticism for Andre Onana

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel admitted he had "no words" on the manner in which his former side lost 3-1 away at Arsenal on Sunday.

It remained 1-1 for some time, though United thought they had won it when Alejandro Garnacho was put clean through on goal before slotting his effort beyond the onrushing Aaron Ramsdale. Much to the relief of the Emirates faithful, VAR intervened and chalked off the Argentine's goal. "I’ve got no words…I’m shocked," Schmeichel claimed. "It’s a terrible way to lose a game. United defended so badly for the corner at the end, Declan Rice had so much time and the goalkeeper should save it." Onana did manage to get a strong hand to the deflected effort, but failed to stop the ball squirming underneath him and into the net.

Reiss Nelson picked up on a loose ball and found Fabio Vieira, whose first time pass sent Gabriel Jesus bearing down on goal. The Brazilian shifted the ball from his left onto his right, leaving Diogo Dalot in a heap on the floor in the process, before slotting past Onana to end the game as a contest with 100 minutes on the clock.
