Barristers will withdraw their services today amid calls to restore criminal law fees to pre-recession levels
Lack of adequate investment in the criminal justice system by successive governments is impacting the availability of legal services and justice according to the Law Society of Ireland.
In a statement, the Society described the upcoming budget as an opportunity to “stem the tide of solicitors and barristers leaving the practice of criminal law” and alleviate the knock-on consequences for legal representation.
