The Justice Minister said she has been reassured by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris there will be enough officers working on days services are withdrawn.They will then withdraw their services completely on November 10 in what rank-and-file cops are calling the 'Drew Flu' if the issue isn’t resolved.The days which will be disrupted include Halloween and Budget Day when a significant garda presence is needed.
The Fine Gael deputy added: "The talks will happen next week, I won’t be in them, because [they are] meetings between the commissioner and the associations. When asked if there was a contingency plan in place for the days gardai withdrew their service, McEntee said: "I’m engaging with the commissioner, I’m engaging with my department, I’m engaging with the associations.
"What I am asking very clearly is that the GRA would get around the table and be part of those discussions because the one thing that everybody is in agreement with is that we need a new roster.
