Group accounts for over one fifth of the Irish retail pharmacy market
Irish healthcare group Uniphar has seen organic profit growth increase by 5 per cent in the first half of 2023, driven by “continued outperformance” in the group's supply chain and retail divisions.
The group, which accounts for over one fifth of the Irish retail pharmacy market, said in a trading update on Wednesday that each of its business divisions had achieved growth in over the six months to the end of June. It follows Uniphar’s acquisition of the McCauley chain of pharmacies for €50 million earlier this year, which added 37 retail outlets to Uniphar's Irish footprint.
