Multiple counties are under weather warnings as Ireland is set to be battered by rain and wind
Counties around the country under weather alerts are gearing up for disruptive weather as Storm Babet hits Ireland.
Multiple warnings have already come into play since 6am on Tuesday morning - with Cork, Kerry and Waterford under a Status Orange warning until 1pm on Wednesday.A Status Yellow rain warning for counties Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford also came into force at 6am and will last until 1pm on Wednesday. A Status Yellow rain warning is also in effect for all of Connacht from 12pm on Tuesday until 1pm on Wednesday.
According to expert Alan O’Reilly, a trusted source on weather in Ireland, massive amounts of rainfall are set to hit Ireland over the coming day - namely in the South, with up to 75mm anticipated. "Models showing over 60mm in 24 hours with upwards of 75mm possible in 36 hours. Those in areas prone to flooding in the South need to be on alert."
